Summary
• Research: Provide strategy research on "Fixed Income" emerging markets to SG clients and SG network. FX and Fixed Income research Team (FICC/RES) is a global business line.
• Publications: Top priority is to contribute to the Fixed Income daily strategy letter and Fixed Income weekly strategy letter. The role will also involve developing trade ideas on fixed income emerging markets. The individual will also produce regularly ad hoc documents on emerging markets and will play a role in determining Fixed income forecasts.
• Sales / traders' relations: work closely with the sales teams (corporates and institutionals) and help them on the day-to-day business. This will include dealing with clients' requests and one-to-one meetings. Preparation of reports supporting the strategies developed by the sales teams may also be involved.
• Standard of research/ranking: The main objective is to ensure that research is up to the highest standard. There is therefore a key role to play in determining the range of products regarding Fixed Income markets.
• Marketing: Contributing to the development SG's global penetration, participating in conferences and visiting clients on a regular basis. Dealing with internal and external communication in London : interviews, articles to the press etc. Supporting the expansion of the London Fixed Income product line.

o Quality of research: The global head of FX and fixed income strategy research is accountable
for the research, but ...
o ... the Emerging markets strategist is consulted for Fixed Income research products, with the other
strategists.
o Responsible for the reinforcement of the ranking of research in Europe on Fixed Income markets
on Emerging Markets.
o Point of contact for any decision regarding the definition and to the update of FICC/RES strategy
on a regular basis
o Providing the appropriate research to FICC business lines and to SG clients
• Marketing
oProduce and adapt Fixed Income research to new market trends, new market competition and
new technology, working closely with the head of research and other strategists.
• Liaison
o Within the department, participating in the weekly strategy meeting and working as a team player
on a day-to-day basis. There will be constant contact with other strategists.
o Outside the department: Working with the other research teams when needed (economics
research team mainly)
• No direct reports
Exposure
o Consulted on the development of the products and the penetration of products to the clients.
o Expected to ensure the quality of Fixed Income research
o Main point of contact for preparing reports, ad hoc documents to clients, presentations and
conferences
o Expert for any change regarding strategy research.
o Informed about SG-CIB strategy and SG-CIB evolutions, SG-CIB operating income.
o Recurrent managerial responsibilities
o Involved in all discussions regarding strategy research on one hand, and global research on the
other hand
o Keeping aware of external communication involving research and on the implementation of SG
conferences involving Fixed Income.

Education
• Strong academic background
Past experience
• Relevant experience within emerging markets economics/strategy is required
Languages
• Fluent English
• Additional languages may be beneficial but are not essential
Technical skills
• Proven analytical, computer and interpersonal skills as well as exceptional writing,
communication and presentation skills are required.
• It will involve working in a fast paced and demanding environment. It requires an individual who
has a strong interest and understanding of financial markets.
